Fjord Glacier

The ship followed Alaska’s Inside Passage, a maritime maze of craggy fjords, forested islands and glaciers.

Glacier Glacier

Glacier Bay is the largest national park in southeast Alaska, the world’s largest protected marine sanctuary and a World Heritage Site. It is 3.3 million acres, larger than the state of Connecticut. It is an icy wilderness made up of 12 tidewater glaciers, 30 alpine glaciers, and a dozen more unnamed glaciers. College Fjord, in Prince William Sound is ringed by 16 glaciers, each named after one of the colleges that sponsored early exploration of the fjord.

PORT OF CALL -- SKAGWAY, now a part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park.
Skagway Soapy Smith

The early gold rush days of Alaska are preserved in Skagway. Skagway was once a lawless gateway for the thousands of hopeful gold ‘stampeders’.

Jefferson “Soapy” Smith became Skagway’s criminal king -- scamming stampeders and controlling gambling and prostitution until his demise in a duel.

Train Train

The White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad was built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush. This narrow gauge railroad connected Skagway and Canada’s Yukon. This route, and the Chilkoot Trail were used by the stampeders.

Gorge Mountain Waterfall

Today the railroad provides breathtaking panoramas of mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls and historic sights.

PORT OF CALL -- JUNEAU
Juneau

Juneau, the "Little San Francisco of the North”, is the only water locked state capital in the United States.
Juneau Juneau

It is a picturesque gold rush town with victorian homes, situated at the foot of 3500 foot mountain slopes.
