Heritage Nature Walks
| Ken W. and the Club Committee organized a series of Nature Walks covering a wide range of topics in our area. Eric Dean, a naturalist at Brookgreen Gardens, led the walks and provided the scientific commentary (with humor). The 1st was a 'Beach Walk' on the south end of Pawleys Island. This was so popular that it was repeated as the 4th Nature Walk. The pictures of the Beach Walk are all from the last session. |

| We gathered at in the parking lot while Ken explained what would happen and Elaine "counted noses." | |

| Everyone collected specimens and tossed them in a circle for Eric to explain. | ||

| It was amazing what Eric knew about each shell or animal. You would not believe the sexual habits of some of these 'critters. |

| Eric brought a seine net and we went fishing in the surf. That is Eric and Forrest in the water. | |
We pulled in several very small fish. A few were 'Jack' fish and these were 'Whiting'. On the marsh side, we netted a small blue crab. All went back in the water alive. |
